OUTDOOR SEASON

                                             OUTDOOR CLUB COMPETITIONS AND LEAGUES

The Club normally runs a Mixed Triples League on Thursday Evenings - If Mixed Triples League matches or club matches are not being played on a particular Thursday, there is normally always a friendly roll-up taking place starting from 6 pm. So there should always be some regular inter-club bowls to accommodate all members with differing abilities & availabilities.

In addition to this, there are knock-out competitions in all disciplines.

The season culminates with the Club Finals Day in September. This is a well-attended event and a chance to see the Club's finest bowlers going head to head.

The Results for the last Outdoor Season are to be found here.

There is also the Gus Franze Challenge Cup.  This is a competition based on a mixed singles format and is open to all Bridgman bowlers, including those who bowl else where during the Outdoor season.    The trophy  was presented to the Club by Gus’s family as a memoriam to Gus who passed away in 2011.

 OUTDOOR FIXTURES (FRIENDLIES & COUNTY)

With a packed fixture list of friendly matches for just about every weekend throughout the outdoor season, the club needs as much support from members as possible to ensure that we can always field sides for this fundamental part of the club calendar. As well as needing to field sides, the club always needs the voluntary efforts of members to help with the post-match catering.

In addition to the friendly fixtures, Bridgman Bowls Club is represented by 2 Men’s teams in the Bedford Triples League and 1 strong Ladies team in the Ladies League - The teams play their matches on Monday (Men) & Tuesday (Ladies) evenings against other clubs from the local area and in addition to these Triples League matches, the teams also enter their respective Bedford Bowls League Knockout Cups.

The club is also strongly represented in the Pell Shield which consists of the aggregate score of 4 pairs on 4 rinks, with 2 pairs playing at home and 2 pairs playing away, and the Harmsworth Cup, as for the Pell Shield except it is for 4 Rinks (2 home 2 away).

As well as the club friendly matches and competitions; our best bowlers also represent themselves, whilst vicariously representing the club, in County Competitions: The County Singles, County Pairs and County Mixed Pairs competitions all have Bridgman Members competing in them.

Bedford  Triples Leagues

At least one of our Men's teams will always be playing at home on a Monday night so there is always an opportunity to stroll down to the club on any given Monday night to support the club and watch some good quality bowls in the process.

The Ladies play on a Tuesday evening - see the fixture list  to see if they are at home or away .
